Considering Avengers World is the only Hickman-Avengers-related title not to jump forward 8 months into the future, will we see some of the changes shown in Time Runs Out in this series? Thanks!

Big changes coming, yeah. In the meantime, a really fun Axis story co-written by Fran Barbiere is up next.

No, I think it was more the Avengers acknowledged them as established allies. I don’t think the teams were looking to become Avengers, they’re trying to be their own thing.

Well, except for Dane. Dane would love to be an Avengers again.

Peggy is in the book.

Oh, definitely. One in particular…

Same answer as above— work is underway.

Anonymous said: You said we could expect updates on your creator-owned titles at NYCC. I don't think I saw any. When can we expect one?

Yeah, unfortunately, I didn’t end up being on a panel where it was appropriate to talk about this stuff, so instead, news will come out a little more piecemeal.

but rest assured, EVERYTHING you want me to be working on, I am working on :) and everything will be in your hands in 2015. And then some.

Anonymous said: Was so excited to read Ant-Man with you as the writer then I read over at comicvine Darla Deering (this girls favorite comic book character ) will not be in the pages and it's heart breaking. Scott grew so much and finally found some peace with Fraction and the Allreds and that is already swept away for no reason other to have another mopey loser male character, not like Marvel is not full of them lately.

I have not said one word about Darla, anywhere, so I think you’re reading between lines :)

Beyond that, growing and finding peace is an awesome way to end a book. As far as a beginning goes however, not so much. Story’s about conflict and struggle— trust me, you do not want to read a book about someone who has solved all their problems and is completely happy with their lives. There’s a classic Bendis line about Wolverine eating a sandwich that applies here.

That said, nothing is being swept away. Everything that happened in FF happened, and we’ll acknowledge it and respect it. I loved that book. Where we pick up, some time has passed, and some things have changed. But you shouldn’t assume the worst ;

Anonymous said: You're writing Ant-Man now, and you wrote Taskmaster back in Secret Avengers. Any chance of the old Scott Lang/Taskmaster rivarly being revived?

I have never been one to pass up an opportunity to write Taskmaster.

Hey, Morning Glories fans! As most of you know next week is NYCC, and once again Nick, Joe and I will be doing Morning Glory Academy Study Hall LIVE! Here’s the details on that:

Title: Morning Glories Study Hall Live!Date: 10/11/2014Time: 1:15PM – 2:00PMLocation: 1A05
Speakers: Joe Eisma, Matthew Meylikhov, Nick Spencer
Description: From the hit annotation column on Multiversity Comics, MGA Study Hall Live returns to NYCC! Continuing from last year’s panel, join creators Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma once again as they discuss their hit Eisner-nominated and New York Times Bestselling Image Comics series “Morning Glories” with MGA Study Hall host Matthew Meylikhov, including another in-depth fan favorite live Q&A segment. Questions will be asked, answers will be avoided and all will be well – for a better future.

However, here’s the situation: I know that a lot of you are incredibly passionate fans and wish you could be there but can’t for whatever reason, and I want to make sure that I am representing your thoughts and interests at the panel. I live to serve.
SO! If you can not come to the panel and want to make sure that something is brought up for discourse, now’s your chance to have your voice be heard anyway. Please comment on this post with what you want to see discussed at MGA Study Hall LIVE! this year and I will bring it up. I have a list of topics, but I’m happy to include yours. (You can also e-mail me, if you’d prefer, but commenting on the post will make my life a little easier when it comes to collating everything.)
And yes, we will do a live Q&A again, yes, I promise I am going to try and record it so we can put it online, and yes, I really really promise I won’t screw it up this year.
So send me your questions, and I look forward to seeing a lot of you next week!
